In a family-led matrimonial system, a parent, sibling or trusted representative may manage the profile, search and initial conversations. This can make the process safer and less stressful. But representation should not become replacement.
The candidate should know what is being said about them, what kind of profiles are being considered and when an important step is about to be taken. They should be able to review a proposed match privately and tell their own representative whether they are comfortable proceeding.
What this perspective asks of us
That response is not a message to the other family. It is guidance inside their own family process. The representative still manages the formal interaction, but now does so with the candidate’s actual view.
A good representative does not make the candidate disappear. A good representative creates a respectful bridge between the candidate and the process.
